Obituaries For Monday, February 20

Donald Pierce, age 76, of Cookeville, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at his home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Memorial Service for John Oliver Bohannon, 80 of Cookeville, will be Tuesday, February 21 at 1:30 PM at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Chuck Overton will officiate. Mr. Bohannon died Monday, February 13, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 2, 1942 in Cookeville to the late Kenneth and Kathleen Bumbalough Bohannon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son John Oliver Bohannon, Jr. He was owner/operator of Corvette Limited of Cookeville and enjoyed working on and showing his cars. John attended Colonial View Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Sandra Maddux Bohannon of Cookeville; daughter, Alicia (Les) Haffner of Cookeville; son, Barry (Macy) Bohannon of Baxter; sister, Dianne (Jim) Whitsitt of Nashville; grandchildren: Garrett and Kylie Bohannon, Emmalyn and Brooklyn Haffner. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:30 AM until service time at the funeral home. A private family interment service will be held at West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls Community at a later date.

Funeral services for Ken Bilbrey, age 48 of Sparta, will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023, beginning at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Tosh officiating. Interment will follow in Webb Cemetery, in Cookeville. Ken passed from this life Friday, February 17, 2023, at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital in Sparta. Born Friday, October 11, 1974 in Cookeville, he was the son of the late Kent Bilbrey and Judy Mae Thomas. Ken was a loving Father, Son, Brother, and friend to all who knew him. He enjoyed his hot rod cars, and motorcycles. He worked for several years detailing automobiles in Cookeville and Sparta, and also operated a lot of Heavy Equipment and Machinery. In addition to his Mother, Ken is survived by: 1 Daughter and her Fiance: Breanna Bilbrey and Brandon Coates of Cookeville. 1 Brother and Sister-in-law:Eric and Tonia Bilbrey of Cookeville. Girl Friend: Cindy Anderson of Sparta. A host of Aunts, Uncles, Neices, Nephews, and Cousins. His 3 best friends: His dogs, Lady, Lexi, and Daisy. In addition to his Father Ken was preceded in death by his Grandparents. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, February 22, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with final expenses. Donations may be made to Breanna Bilbrey or at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Eddie Coffee, age 66 of Gainesboro, will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 2 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, with Bro. Jimmy Anderson and Bro. Toby Crowder officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Jackson County. Eddie was born January 3, 1957, in Jackson County, and he passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at his residence in Gainesboro. He was the son of Jean Coffee and the late James Monroe Coffee. On June 17, 1977, he was married to Brenda Coffee, who survives. He was a factory worker at Nielsen, and a member of the Lakeview Church of Christ. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his Sister and Brother-in-Law: Nancy Lloyd and Joe Lloyd; and Sister and Brother-in-Law: Lula Boles and Bill Boles. Survivors include his Wife: Brenda Coffee of Gainesboro; Son: Shannon (Jackie Locke) Barlow of Gainesboro; Daughter: Lisa (Ray) Mahan of Cookeville; Brothers: Jackie Coffee and Danny Coffee, both of Gainesboro; Sisters: Cookie (Toby) Crowder of Whitleyville, and Michelle (Anthony) Smith of Dubre, KY; his Mother: Jean Coffee of Gainesboro, TN; Grandchildren: Blaise (Abby) Barlow and Kinsey (Nick) Lemmons; nephew and nieces, and many friends. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral services for Marquita May Henry, 87 of Cookeville will be Thursday, February 23 at 1 PM at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate. Interment will follow in West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls Community. Mrs. Henry died Sunday, February 19, 2023 at her home.She was born July 23, 1935 in Putnam County to the late Olen C. and Rosa Lea (Randolph) Randolph. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death husbands, Alvin Kirby, Alfred Massa and Charles Henry; a son, Jerry Kirby and brother Dale Randolph. Marquita graduated with a B.S. Degree from Vol State in Gallatin. She retired as an Administrative Assistant with Perilli Tire Company in Madison. She was a member of Holladay Church of Christ. She enjoyed walking, running, swimming, exercising, reading and cooking. Survivors include daughter; Teresa Kirby; son, Darrell Kirby; sisters, Aline Alred, Faye Morris, Gail Steward and Lisa Jarvis all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Melissa Wingett, Stacy Howard, Connor Kirby, Wesley Kirby, Whitney Kirby; great-grandchildren, William Caleb Wingett, Robert Noah Wingett and Walter Mack Howard. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM and after 10 AM Thursday until service time at the funeral home.

A memorial service for Julia “Julie” Marie Petzko, age 83 of Cookeville, will be held at 11am on Saturday February 25 at First Presbyterian Church, Cookeville. Rev. Michael McLaughlin will officiate. She passed away Thursday February 16, 2023 at Smith County Health and Rehabilitation. She was born July 3, 1939 in Poughkeepsie, NY to the late Harry Wessell and Julia O’Toole Wessell. Julie was a talented artist and drew many portraits of family and friends. She was also an experienced editor and proofreader. Later in life she returned to college and became a paralegal for a prominent law firm in NJ. She moved to TN to be close to her granddaughters. She is survived by two children, Patrick Petzko and Dina (Eric) Smith; grandchildren, Juliette and Annabelle Smith, all of Cookeville; brother, Harold (Lisa) Wessell of Rock City Falls, NY; and sister, Lillian (Hilton) Ashby of Russellville, KY. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Boeckman.

Celebration of Life Services for James Robert “Hoss” Hull, age 89 of Monterey, will be held at Goff Funeral Home on Saturday, March 4 at 3:00 PM with Wanda Baisley officiating. Mr. Hull passed away on Monday, January 30 at Tennessee State Veterans’ Home in Murfreesboro surrounded by his family. Hoss enjoyed sports, primarily football, while growing up in Monterey and was very proud to be a member of the Class A championship Monterey High School football team in 1951. Following high school, he honorably served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his military service, he lived and worked in Tennessee, eventually moving to Texas where he met and married Louise. He remained in Texas 35 years before returning home to Monterey. He was perhaps best known for his readiness to tell a joke or relay a funny story from the past, as well as for his quick smile and giving heart. He is survived by a brother and sister. The family wishes to offer special thanks to Jeremy Moseley for his invaluable personal assistance and to the nurses and staff of the Tennessee State Veterans’ Home for their kindness and care shown to Hoss while he was there. The family will receive friends at Goff Funeral Home on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 1:00 PM until time of services at 3:00 PM.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering for Mary Dolores Graham (Manning), age 87 of Algood, will be held Saturday, March 11 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Mrs. Graham passed away on Tuesday January 31. Dee grew up in Dundee, IL where she met and married Billy on Saturday October 22, 1955. They raised 4 children in Carpentersville IL. She was a very loving and devoted mother to her children. She worked for 30 years for Otto Engineering in Carpentersville IL. Upon retirement her and Billy moved to Algood, Tn. to enjoy the natural beauty and peacefulness that the hills of TN had to offer .She was very active with her book club and was well known for her home cooked meals. She is survived by her children, Thomas (Sandra) Graham, Ted (Michelle) Graham, Cynthia Rush, and Sandra (Kurt) Domianus. In Lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to St. Jude’s Children’s research hospital.
