Celina K-8 To Get Portable Building As New CTE Career Center

Clay County Schools moving forward with the purchase of a portable building for CTE opportunities.

School Board Chair Benji Bailey said the move comes as part of the Innovative Schools Model Grant. He said the portable building will be stationed at Celina K-8 School.

“At this level, at the elementary level, it just introduces them to different careers and different options that will be available to them both in their high school education and their future as well,” Bailey said. “It’s more of an awareness thing.”

Bailey said the building will have a CTE-focused career center. He said it will be able to help better prepare and educate students at that younger age to know what options they have.

Bailey said the building itself cost around $208,000. He said the goal is to get it up and running by next school year.
