The White County School Board has set its upcoming budget efforts as members prepare for the new fiscal year.
Chair Bob Young said it may seem early, but White County has formalized its budget calendar. The board scheduled May 25th as its time to review expenditures and revenue.
“Since they are our funding arm, we will have to provide a budget for them,” Young said. “Then, we will come back on June 1st that will be a meeting for adoption and then it would go to the county for approval.”
Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said this will give the school board adequate time to review the budget. Over $34 million of federal grants, teacher salaries and operation expenses will be considered.
