Portobello America Aiming For Summer Completion In Baxter

Portobello America aiming for an opening date this summer as the company progresses on its Baxter manufacturing facility.

Senior Human Resource Manager Alicia Banner said the company has faced some delays due to equipment deliveries.

“We are almost 100 percent closed in on the construction on the actual manufacturing facility, and we’re looking to hopefully in the next month or so close the rest of the facility in,” Banner said. “Once that happens, we will start the equipment install.”

Banner said isolated power outages during the construction process has also created delays. The plant was set to originally open last year.

Banner said the equipment installation phase is a key step in the process so the company can start training its workforce. Banner said the hiring process for the some 150 plant workers has begun.

Banner said overall, the facility will be responsible for 246 jobs.
