TennCare Renewals Resume In April After Pausing For COVID

TennCare renewals will restart in April after being suspended since the pandemic.

Congress voted to resume renewals which will require beneficiaries to reverify their status. TennCare Communications Director Amy Lawrence said members can prepare now by making sure the organization has the correct information.

“This will be a big impact for a lot of Tennesseans. We cover about 50 percent of children in Tennessee,” Lawrence said. “So, they should be familiar with it. Now, we have had people who have come on to TennCare in the last two years so this will be a first for many of them.”

Lawrence said each person will have a renewal month based on when you first applied. For example, if you became a member in June 2021, your renewal time will be in June 2023.

During your designated time, Lawrence said the state will try to automatically renew most people. Lawrence said if not enough information is available, you will receive a email or mail notification.

Lawrence said you can update your profile by visiting TennCareconnect.tn.gov or call (855) 259-0701.
