Livingston Airport Receives Nearly $800 K In Federal Funding

The Livingston Municipal Airport has received $795,000 in federal funding to be spent over the next five years.

Airport Committee Chair Jason Duke said the funding come from the bi-partisan infrastructure plan.

“I was going to use the money to completely rehabilitate our existing terminal,” Duke said. “Our terminal was started in 1959. Most of it was built in the 60’s or 70’s. This is an opportunity to make an actual airport terminal style building.”

Duke said the airport board has also applied for funding from the federal terminal program. Duke said if that grant is awarded, the infrastructure money would instead be used to expand the taxiway.

Duke said expanding the taxiway would open the possibility to construct more commercial hangars. Duke said the airport currently does not have road access to develop the land.
