Fentress County Senior Advisory Board set to host a special called meeting to create a fundraising committee this Wednesday.
Senior Center Director Alice Kirby said the board has played a vital role in the Senior Center’s operations and helped to guide the direction of the center. She said the fundraising committee will help streamline the budgeting and financials.
“This is just going to be a different routing system in the sense of everything is tracked as always where it’s coming and going and what it’s going for,” Kirby said. “And that’s never been a problem, this is just going a different route.”
Kirby said the fundraising committee will likely be made up both of board members and senior center members. She said having committees are common in the center, and the fundraising committee will join those.
Kirby said they look forward to working with the individuals nominated and appointed to the committee. She said together, they will be able to progress with fundraising capabilities and hopefully even grow them in the future.
“And so this will be going through the center the committee that is appointed specifically for fundraising,” Kirby said.
