The long-awaited Taco Bell on Fast Lane in Baxter officially held its grand opening Monday morning.
Franchisee Partner Amir Ferdowsi said the promise of the store opening has been met with much excitement from the community.
“When we announce it, especially in these rural towns, it’s probably the biggest thing that we’ve ever experienced coming into a town,” Ferdowsi said. “We are just excited and happy, and we want to do everything we can to make an impact here for everyone in the community.”
Ferdowsi said after such a long period of time and several setbacks, it’s a relief to finally have the store on Fast Lane open. Manager Brandon Lowery said since the restaurant’s soft opening last week, it has garnered much community support.
“I think the hard work has finally paid off and the whole community is awesome and has been accepting that we’re still working through some of the challenges, and still learning,” Lowery said.”But everything has been great and I’m so happy to finally be here.”
Mayor John Martin said now that Taco Bell is open, the city will turn its sights to the next potential businesses coming in. He said there have been several interested parties in the upcoming Hive building, set to open in 2023.
