Highlands CareerFest Targeting Workers Across The Country Through Hybrid Format

The Highlands Economic Partnership hosting its first CareerFest Thursday, and it will include potential employees who live outside of the Upper Cumberland.

Director of Investor and Community Relations Adam Poe said the workforce in the Upper Cumberland is the limiting factor in scaling the economy. Poe said that is why the partnership targeted 300 zip codes across the country that align with local industry needs.

“Filling the open jobs in our four-county partnership is top priority,” Poe said. “The fact of the matter is that we have over 11,000 open jobs across the four-county area, and so, our team came together and started thinking of ways that we can help our employers.”

Poe said the hiring event will be a hybrid one meaning you can attend virtually. Poe said attendants will be able to log-in, walk around the Leslie Town Centre and video chat with employers.

“We need to recruit talent all across North America to fill these jobs,” Poe said. “We have about 600 people that have registered on the virtual side. In-person we are expecting a lot higher than that based on registration.”

Poe said at least 55 companies offering just over 2,000 jobs will be at the Leslie Town Centre. You can visit highlandscareerfest.com to register.
