Celina Donated Small Parcel To Create A City Park

Celina Health and Rehab has donated land to Celina to create a new park.

Mayor Luke Collins said the two acres are located near the center off of Highway 53 as you enter the city.

“A great thought and a great gift to give to the community back like that,” Collins said. “To give property for a playground which would benefit everybody for who knows. Maybe 100 years.”

Collins said as a part of the deal, the city will address drainage issues that the rehab facility faces. Collins said the city will put a culvert under the road.

As for the amenities for the park, Collins said the purchases will need to be budgeted before action is taken. Collins said he is also exploring grant funding opportunities.
