A new Halloween Attraction company celebrating its first spooky season in Silver Point this year.
Halloween Hollow Founders and Creators Carroll Moore and Erica McElroy both have experience in the haunted house realm. Moore said when planning the site they try to take into account various aspects of scares to have a genre for everyone.
“A big top meat attraction which is basically a cannibal killer clowns slaughterhouse which has chainsaws, killer clowns,” Moore said. “Video Slashback which is we built a video store from scratch so you walk in and it’s nostalgic overload. You walk through the video store to get to the haunted house portion and each scene is a VHS that we created.”
Moore said they also have the stereotypical haunted house. He said what makes Halloween Hollow stand apart is that the attractions are built to last, and not just pack up at the end of the season. He said each house uses a 900-square-foot carport.
McElroy said in addition to the haunted houses on site, visitors can also grab a drink at the beer garden, wander through a corn maze, and play laser stage. She said they wanted to create a themed space suitable for visitors of all ages and scare levels.
Moore said Halloween Hollow will only be open during the month of October. He said the rest of the year will be spent continuing to grow the site and work on new ideas. He said what surprises some people is just how much work goes into planning and creating the attractions, starting as early as July.
