Cookeville’s Cityscape has between 20 to 30 applicants interested in its vacant executive director position.
The downtown revitalization group accepted applications over a three-week period to replace the previous director Holly Freeman. CityScape Board Chair Tiffany Davidson said the interview process starts next week.
“We have a search committee within our board of directors that is going through and reading through the resumes and going through talking points,” Davidson said. “We have had a meeting already. We met yesterday to discuss some of the applicants.”
Davidson said about half of the candidates are local to the Cookeville community. Davidson said the goal is to hire a new director as soon as possible.
“Ultimately, it will come down to the board of directors,” Davidson said. “That is who will make the decision. We have about 16 people on our board.”
Davidson said a mixture of business owners, community partners and city officials make up the board in charge of hiring.
