TDOT Opens Bids To Construct New Maintenance Building In Gainesboro

Bids are in for a a new TDOT maintenance building in Jackson County.

Community Relations Officer Rae-Anne Bradley said the building will include office and garage space for TDOT’s Jackson county maintenance crew.

Bradley said the existing structure has reached the use of its life and needs to be replaced. It will also be used for daily planning meetings, minor repairs of tools and equipment and storage of small hand tools and materials.

Bradley said bids were also opened for safety improvements on State Route 85 from the Gainesboro city limits to Brown Stafford Cemetery Lane. Bradley said the work includes new signs, guardrails and striping.

Contracts should be awarded for work in about a month.
