Celebrate Recovery Rickman- a new group formed by local churches to give community to those struggling.
I Am Worship Pastor Mark Ogletree said the organization focuses on more than just addiction. Ogletree said the meetings will help people find community on any vice that could prohibit your life.
“There’s a need,” Ogletree said. “There are people that have hurts, habits and hang-ups, and they are looking for a place to find community to be able to deal with those things. There are not enough opportunities for people to assemble together and do that.”
Ogletree said the group will have its first meeting Thursday at I Am Worship Church off Highway 111 at 6:00 p.m. Ogletree said the gathering will include group sessions with others facing similar situations such as co-dependency, relationships and porn.
“It’s not just I Am Worship Church,” Ogeltree said. “There are other ministries. We’re hosting it, but it is definitely a multi-church function where we are all excited about people changing.”
Ogletree said it starts with a mix and mingle open to each session with the group focuses following. Ogletree said religious teachings will be incorporated with strategies to handle your struggle.
“If they don’t know Jesus, then the hope of overcoming these things is not possible,” Ogletree said. “That is the message that will be sent and I think also too having a place to come to and talk about these things helps.”
The organization will meet every Thursday at the same time and place moving forward.
