Clay County Mayor Dale Reagan elected as commission chair for the 17th year in a row Monday night.
Reagan said that this year marks the beginning of his 5th term serving as the County Mayor. He said he’s hopeful that the continuity of leadership helps the county to run as smoothly as possible.
“It gives me a great honor to know that the commissioners put the confidence in me,” Reagan said. “And I do my very best to try to get information to them when we’re working on our agendas and stuff so they can make decisions for the citizens of this county.”
Commissioner Brian Coons was elected as Chair Pro-Tem. Reagan said he takes over the position from former Commissioner Timmy Scott, who did not run for re-election this year.
Reagan said Monday night’s commission meeting also saw the appointments of commissioners to various committees and boards, including the Solid Waste Board and the Public Library Board.
