The Overton County Family and Community Educators group has started the process to add a club for the community.
The group operates through the Overton County Ag Extension Office. Director Christina Swallows said about 12 people met that wanted a day-time club.
“They did decide that each of them would bring something they are working on and something they are willing to teach to others, so we can get a grasp of what they want this club to look like in the future,” Swallows said.
Swallows said the initial meeting served as an organizational session. Swallows said they plan to work on the clubs makeup, name and meeting schedule in a future meeting. Members will meet again on September 14th at the Extension Office for further talks.
Swallows said she serves as an advisor for the people. Swallows said her role is to provide the educational resources needed to make a club.
