Livingston Academy To Play First Home Football Game At Tucker Stadium

The first home game of the Livingston Academy Football Season will be played at Tennessee Tech’s Tucker Stadium.

Head Coach Dale Flatt said the stadium project is set for an August 26th completion, the same day of its game against Cookeville High School.

“Then the rest of the home games will be at Livingston Academy,” Flatt said. “Our next home game after that will be September 16th, and it would be ready by then. So, we should have everything ready to go.”

Flatt said the new bleachers are currently being installed at the field and will be ready for the season. Flatt said the new scoreboard is about half way installed but should be fully operational for the season as well.

“It’s going along as planned,” Flatt said. “If you drive by and look at it, you can see some differences.”

Flatt said new LED lights also being installed that can change colors during the game. Flatt said the concession stands, restrooms and weight room will not be ready until December.

“It’s really not going to change anything for players,” Flatt said. “It’s things fans are going to have to deal with as far as getting concessions and going to the restroom. We’ll have portable restrooms and things for that.”

Flatt said after playing a full season of home games at Tucker Stadium last year, he is excited to return home. Flatt said the field will continue as Tom Davis Memorial Stadium once the project is complete.

“I look for a sell out crowd on that first game just to see what it is like and to see how we play,” Flatt said.
