Hermitage Springs School hosting a back-to-school bash this Saturday.
Principal Christina McGee said they’ll have backpacks, school supplies, personal hygiene bags, and more available to anyone in the community.
“As you know we’re in a rural area with some lower economic status,” McGee said.”And we know that our families, especially with the prices of inflation, they need some help. And if we’re in a position where we can help, that’s what we want to do.”
McGee said that the event was made possible through generous community donors. She said that clothing was donated by the Save the Children Foundation.
The event at Hermitage Springs is the latest in a series of drives using donations from Save the Children. McGee said that this Saturday will also have free diapers for those in need thanks to the Nashville Diaper Connection.
The event will start at 10 a.m. and go until supplies run out. McGee said the back-to-school bash is not just for Hermitage Springs School families, but anyone who is in need.
