The next manager of McMinnville’s Park Theater began his position Wednesday.
It was the first full day for Joe Harvey who replaces Kevin Roberts. Harvey said he has several goals in mind for the historic downtown theater.
“The biggest thing is that I want to get people in the theater and enjoying the shows we are putting on,” Harvey said. “I want to put something for everybody. I want to make sure our entire community locally and out of town see what we are doing here.”
Harvey said he has already met with the staff of the theater. Harvey said scheduling programs for 2023 is something he wants to start soon.
“I want to put some things on that people know, and I want to try some new stuff as well,” Harvey said. “The sky is the limit here at the Park Theater.”
Harvey said as a McMinnville native, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to operate the Park Theater. Harvey said he lives so close by that he hopes to ride his bike to work each day.
“It is such an honor to be able to take on a center piece like this is to the community,” Harvery said. “When they offered me the chance to run the facility, I knew it was something I couldn’t turn down.”
Harvey said he has several years of experience in production through several medians such as television and radio. Most recently, he operated a cable channel for the Warren County School System.
