The Warren County Genealogical and Historical Association will host a book presentation Saturday about a founding member of White County.
Author Wayne Haston will talk about his book over his ancestor Daniel Haston. Haston said his 484 page book starts in the 1400’s tracing the Haston family from Switzerland to when Daniel came to the Upper Cumberland.
“Daniel Haston would be the presentator of all the Haston’s in Middle Tennessee, Putnam County, White County, Van Buren County, Warren, all over the area,” Haston said. “He actually moved into White County before the county was formed.”
Haston said the family name has a rich history that has left a mark to the region. Danial Haston lived in Tennessee when it became a state in 1806. His father was also a part of the founding of Van Buren County.
Daniel Haston is buried at the Big Fork Cemetery in Cumminsville of Van Buren County. The book presentation begins at 2:00 p.m. Saturday.
