State Names Angela Regitko As Region’s New Economic Director

The State Department of Economic and Community Development has named Angela Regitko as the new Upper Cumberland Regional Director.

Regitko said she will work with existing and new industry in the 14-county region.

“We want to make sure that those incentives that the state offers are there for them, as well as they are taking advantage of those tax credits,” Regitko said. “Tennessee is a great pace to do business because of those things, and we want to make sure the existing industries take advantage of them.”

Regitko said she will work along side the mayors of the region to help bring in new industry, as well. Regitko said she believes rural areas such as the Upper Cumberland have been targets of recent due to growing infrastructure and metro costs.

“We’re really set on point to be able to attract those businesses, and it is a beautiful place,” Regitko  said. “People love to come here and love to see our waterfalls, mountains and natural resources we have. There are so many advantages.”

Regitko served as Business Development Consultant for six years under former Regional Director Cody Huddleston, who recently transitioned to the public sector.

“I’ve hired someone to come work with me. Jill Osborne currently works for UCDD and she works in Economic Development there, so I’m really excited she will be joining me on July 1st,” Regitko said.
