Two Crossville women are working to create a new chapter of Women on Wheels in Cumberland County.
The not for profit organization unites female motorcycle enthusiasts while promoting a positive image of the lifestyle. Organizer Pam Rusk said she has been working with Edith Lesh to gauge interest.
“Women on Wheels participation is a little low in Tennessee,” Rusk said. “We would like to increase our presence and provide more connectivity to the members that do live in Tennessee. We thought it would be a great idea to get a chapter going here.”
Rusk said they have scheduled a informational meeting on June 23rd at 6:00 p.m. to gauge community interest. Rusk said she tried to start the chapter last year and received healthy interest, but very few attended the meeting.

Rusk said she believes the organization is way to develop friendships, coordinate rides and learn more about the hobby. Rusk said as a member, you also have access to the 22 chapters across the nation that can be beneficial if you come across mechanical issues while traveling.
