Putnam County Schools named new principals at Algood and Upperman Middle Schools Tuesday.
Cookeville High School Assistant Principal Rusty Darley will take over as Algood Middle School Principal. Darley becomes the second Cookeville High School assistant principal to be promoted this month.
Darley replaces Dr. Bubba Winningham who is moving to the central office. Winningham will take over as the 5th through 12th grade Instructional Supervisor following the retirement of Dr. Sharon Griggs.
Algood Middle School Assistant Principal Jessica Etheredge will move to Upperman Middle School as its new principal. Current principal Dr. Will Penner decided to pursue other opportunities.
The 5th-12th Grade Instruction Supervisor role is a new role combining the middle and high school teams as one. The current 8th-12th grade Instructional Supervisor, Dr. Sharon Anderson, is transitioning to the Continuous Improvement Supervisor. Anderson will lead initiatives, oversee state compliance reports, lead the district and school improvement plan processes, manage university research requests, and lead initiatives that improve district performance.
Transportation Operations Assistant Ron Chaffin will be filling the shoes of retiring, long-time Transportation Supervisor Kim Bradford.
