Tennessee Tech Celebrates Commencement For Class Of 2022

Tennessee Tech celebrated the graduation of over 1,500 students at its commencement Friday morning.

President Phil Oldham said that as Tech’s stature and reputation grow, so does the value of the degree the students have earned.

“You are set to get a great return on the investment you have made,” Oldham said. “Because you have what the world wants and desperately needs: talent plus tenacity. You have clearly demonstrated those high-value characteristics that are embodied in the degree you receive today.”

Oldham said that students have experienced much adversity over the last two years. He said that the students sitting at commencement reveals their character of strength, tenacity, and kindness.

Oldham said that the graduating class had students from over 20 countries and 43 disciplines. He said that the birth years of those earning degrees on Friday range from 1945 to 2002.
