The Putnam School Board approved the receiving of bids for the new Park View K-8 School project Thursday.
Upland Design Group’s Kim Chamberlin said he expects the project to be bid in middle June. Two contractors have already been selected by the school board and remain interested in the project.
“They’ve called several times,” Chamberlin said.
Upland Design received the final drawings for the facility this week with reviews underway of the 200-page plans. Chamberlin said an outside firm has completed the review of the sub-surface environmental work on the site. He said he expects a final report in the next week.
Once plans are reviewed in the next few days, Chamberlin said the plan will go to the fire marshal for review.
“I want to give them time to do their work,” Chamberlin said.
Chamberlin said bids on the Upperman High School expansion and the VITAL facility will be ready in about 60 days. The firm wants to finish up meetings in the next several weeks with faculty and staff to get input on the two facilities.
