Turn your clutter into cash this Saturday at the Overton County Fairgrounds.
The Overton County Fair Association is hosting a community yard sale. Fair Associate Lacey Pennington said all are welcome to sell items and do some shopping at the same time.
“So many places charge a big rent for yard sales, and if you’re like myself and live out in the county, you don’t really have a good place to do a yard sale,” Pennington said. “So at the fairgrounds we have unlimited space, and we just thought it would be a one stop shop.”
Yard sale spaces can be as large or small as someone would like. The association does recommend bringing your own tables or tents for items. Pennington said several have already signed up, but there is plenty of room for more at the fairgrounds.
To participate and rent a place, it will be a $25 charge. Pennington said those proceeds will help fund the efforts of the association. Pennington said then vendors can keep their profit.
“Each year we try to get new events and get new things and get bigger and better each year and just make improvements on our grounds that need it,” Pennington said. “Those funds just help kind of support our local fairgrounds and our upkeep with it.”
