A potential partnership with Tennessee Tech on Tucker Stadium upgrades will be part of budget discussions for Cookeville.
TTU President Phil Oldham presented the idea to the city council in February. City Manager James Mills said that they will potentially schedule a work session with the university to talk further.
“In May we’ll be having work sessions with the council to go over the budget and the general fund budget,” Mills said. “And we’ll have those work sessions in May and that’s probably when some of those issues will be brought up.”
Mills said that the council has the final say on whether or not a project is something that the city wants to pursue. He said that some of the other bigger issues they’ll be focusing on this budget session include employee pay, employee health insurance, and the aquatics facility.
