City of Algood wants residents to be aware of a system error on their paper water bills.
City Administrator Keith Morrison said that residents who received their paper bill in the mail will see the wrong amount listed due to a system error. He said that an incorrect data file went to the billing company so a bill could be more or less than normal depending on the account.
“Bank drafts will be normal and they’ll be the correct bill,” Morrison said. “So the only thing it affected was just the paper bills that they received in the mail. And some of them probably got them today or yesterday, and the new ones will most likely be sent out by Monday.”
Morrison said that in the meantime, residents can wait to pay until they receive their corrected bill. He said that they can also call City Hall or visit in person to go ahead and get it taken care of anyway.
Morrison said that you have the ability, your online utility account will reflect the correct amount.
