A four-vehicle collision slowed traffic on Interstate 40 near mile marker 297 on Friday afternoon.
75-year-old Edward Henneman of Maryland was traveling in a 2019 Nissan Rogue when he slowed due to stopped traffic ahead. 35-year-old Michael Leos of Tennessee then struck the rear of Henneman’s vehicle. 41-year-old Michael Spivey was unable to stop in time and then struck Leos. The fourth vehicle in the accident was driven by 31-year-old Donald Donovan, who struck the rear of Spivey’s vehicle.
There were no injuries reported for the eight drivers and passengers. There will be no criminal charges and no follow-up investigation.
