Byrdstown Upgrading City Hall With New Flooring And Info Sign

Byrdstown making some improvements to its town hall by installing new floors and an informational sign.

Mayor Sam Gibson said some of the carpet dates back to the 1980’s and needs replacing.

“We’re looking at coming in and removing all the tile and carpet and completely redoing the floor and put down some type of a water proof lifetime warranty type floor,” Gibson said.

Gibson said he would to place new wood flooring for the building. Bids for the work are set to be opened Monday night.

Gibson said the LED sign will be installed on the side of city hall for those driving on Main Street to see. Gibson said the sign should be installed this year depending on availability.

“I think it will be good, because it will be kinda like a scrolling sign that will remind people what is going on whether it is a town hall meeting, county commission meeting or little league sign-ups,” Gibson said.

Gibson said a Tennessee Arts Grant made the sign purchase possible.
