Registrations for Cookeville’s two new adult volleyball leagues are now underway.
Cane Creek Athletics Coordinator Lori Medlin said that the program came about following the success of the youth program.
“Because we have never offered anything like this in the past to women and co-ed teams,” Medlin said. “It’s something brand new that we want to get going here and increase our programming with the city.”
Medlin said that the league is for both seasoned players and those new to the game. She said the most important things to have are general knowledge of gameplay and a desire to play.
“Well it’s actually two different leagues it’s women’s league and a co-ed league,” Medlin said. “The women’s league is just for women only and the co-ed league is obviously co-ed. And it’ll be six weeks of season play and then the 7th week will be tournament play.”
Medlin said that they are really excited about the prospect of the new league and hoping to see it grow through successful registrations.
“It is register as a team,” Medlin said. “It is $200 per team for either league. You can have a maximum of 12 players per team and you can registers either here at the Cookeville Cane Creek Gymnasium or you can register online at cookeville-tn.gov through the athletics page there, and it has all the information you need to register.”
