A structure fire on Chester King Road in Putnam County has resulted in the total loss of a detached garage.
Chief Tom Brown said his department was dispatched around 2:45 this morning to respond to the call.
“The roof had already collapsed,” Brown said. “We basically just extinguished the fire from there, there wasn’t much we could do with it. It was already too late to save anything so we extinguished what fire we could get to and started pulling the walls out and the tin roof off the seat of the fire so we could extinguish the fire.”
Brown said that the cause of the fire is still under investigation. He said that there were no injuries.
Brown said that the metal building was used for storage purposes. He said that was some farm and shop equipment inside.
