Sparta Chili Supper Supporting Prevention Of Pet Overpopulation

The White County Humane Society and FRIENDS of White County hosting a chili supper Saturday.

All proceeds go towards the organizations’ spay and neutered program. Humane Society Treasurer Monica Jicha said participants can enjoy all you can eat chili with corn muffins, desserts and drinks.

Jicha said some 25 different chilies will be available suiting many different dietary restrictions. Jicha said members of the organization have volunteered their time to cook the meals.

Jicha said adults cost $10 and children under 10 cost $5. Jicha said the annual event was cancelled last year due to COVID. Jicha said participating this year helps a serious issue in White County: pet overpopulation.

The dinner begins at 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Jicha said the event will be at Saint Andrew Catholic Church at 829 Valley View Drive in Sparta. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by speaking with an organization member.
