Clay EMS Raises Pushed To Next Month After Not Making Commission Agenda

A pay raise for Clay County EMS workers could be coming next month depending on a county commission vote.

That is according to County Attorney Jimmy White. White said the pay increase needs to be discussed in the planning committee before the full commission can consider.

“They take it to the planning committee which will meet on the 24th or the 31st, and then they will take it on to the full committee,” White said. “They didn’t have a planning committee before Monday’s meeting.”

Celina Mayor Luke Collins said a dollar raise is expected. The county commission will consider adding $18,000 to the ambulance service to make the increase happen. Celina has already approved its match of $6,000.
