Putnam County building permits hit record numbers in 2021.
Permits inside the county, excluding the four municipalities, totaled $69.8 million. That topped the previous record set just a year ago at $54.6 million.
“With all the talk I am hearing about new subdivisions being developed and large contractors looking to build hundreds of new homes, 2022 looks to be another great year,” Putnam County Mayor Randy Porter said. “I can’t predict the future, but absent some unforeseen crisis, I don’t see construction in Putnam County slowing down anytime soon.”
The 388 permits issued during 2021 included 233 single family homes.
December building permits included 29 issued for $5 million.
