McMinnville Breakfast Rotary Club’s Share A Christmas Dinner is already prepping for next year’s program.
Co-Chair Chad Graves said that the group has already met its goal to serve Christmas meal kits to some 300 families in the community.
“The idea is to put together a box that has some of the staples for a somewhat healthy meal around Christmas time for a family in need,” Graves said.
Graves said that they are still accepting donations in the hope that they can increase their goal each year. He said that the donations will roll over, and hopefully allow the organization to serve 400 families next year.
Graves said that individuals have donated from around the country to help with a great cause for the Christmas season. He said that the program is a 41-year tradition he wanted to continue.
“Whenever I was in high School Interact we did this every year as an interact service project and it was touching for me. And we had great sponsors and it was very dear to their hearts as well and that’s why it became closed to us. And this has been going on for 41 years now. It was started by Don Collette who passed somewhat recently and we wanted to continue that legacy even though he’s gone.”
Graves said that you can find information on how to donate at the program’s website shareachristmasdinner.com
