The Overton County Sheriff’s Office annual toy drive has returned as the holiday season approaches.
The program brings gifts and necessities to families that are facing financial hardships. Sheriff John Garrett said parents or guardians have until November 30th to submit a letter to be considered.
Garrett said participants must be Overton County residents and not be receiving assistance from other charities. Garrett said the child’s age, gender and a Christmas list should be included in the letter.
But most of all, community support makes the difference in drives like this. Garrett said donated items should be unwrapped, in the original packaging.
Garrett said donation boxes are located at the Overton County Sheriff’s Department, Winningham Hardware, Walgreens, Dollar General Market, Hardee’s and the Livingston Church of Christ.
Send your request letters to 1010 John T. Poindexter Drive, Livingston, TN 38570. Garrett said families will be notified when selected.
