Friends Of The Art Circle Public Library Book Clearance Sale Through October 30th

The Friends of the Art Circle Public Library in Crossville are hosting another book clearance sale until Saturday, October 30th.

Board Member Louise Nee said that the group has been hosting the event in one form or another for several years. She said that the friends host it to support the library.

“This clearance sale is meant to get rid of a lot of surplus books,” Nee said. “Get them in the hands of people who want to read them.”

Nee said they’ll have books of all genres ranging from two books for one quarter to fifty cents per book. She said that the funding goes straight back to the library to help pay for various needs.

“All libraries need something beyond the regular tax base, it just doesn’t cover it,” Nee said. “Often new things and fun things and educational programs just takes more money. Sometimes we help them buy something that they wouldn’t be able to buy

Nee said she has spent most of her career working in the library system. She the library is important to support because of all the opportunities reading can give someone.

“I think that reading is the best thing that anyone can do for information, for entertainment,” Nee said. “TV is wonderful but books… They take you into another world.

Nee said that with plenty of books in storage, she suggests making multiple trips to see what genres the sale has to offer. She said that the sale will run during the library’s operating hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday.
