Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church Returns For Another Homemade Goods Sale

Another year of homemade craft goods and art pieces at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church.

Group Leader at Crafter’s For Missions Elizabeth Clow said the event will feature everything from florals, to jewelry, to baked goods. She said that a lot of preparation work goes into the sale.

“The ladies of the community, as well as ladies in the church, get together every Tuesday beginning the first of February and we work until the sale which is the third week in October,” Clow said. “And we do all kinds of crafts.”

Clow said that the sale goes back some 25 or 30 years. She said that funds from the sale directly benefit those in the community.

“The proceeds for our sales go back into Cumberland County,” Clow said. “So they go back into non-profits like Habitat, like House of Hope, or the Avalon Center or Bread of Life, or to scholarships for both traditional and non-traditional students.”

Clow said it’s important to her to give back to the Cumberland community. She said that as a retired teacher and college administrator, she wants every person to have the opportunity for education.

“It’s just being able to give back to the community,” Clow said. “I feel so blessed to live there in Cumberland County. I’m a Tennessean, and my husband and I decided to retired here like so many other people. And it just makes me feel good.”

Clow said that the event will be Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the bake sale on Thursday morning. She said everyone is welcome, and that the group excepts cash and check only.
