Cookeville’s Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series Returns This Week

Cookeville’s Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series returns on Friday to get people outside in downtown.

Cultural Arts Superintendent Chad McDonald said on four Friday’s in October people will get a free concert outside the Cookeville Depot Museum. McDonald said The Jolly String Quartet will kick things off.

“We’re about making the good life better, that’s our motto,” McDonald said. “So the Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series has sort of become a tradition for a lot of folks to kick off the fall season.”

McDonald said the series will continue each Friday until October 22. He said people will get to enjoy music ranging from bluegrass, folk to singer-songwriter.

“It takes place at the Cookeville Depot Museum and that’s right in the middle of traffic and the business of downtown,” McDonald said. “So it is kind of cool to sit outside in the shade and have some great food and listen to some good music at the same time.”

He said food will be for sale on location, starting at 11:00 AM. McDonald said seating will be provided and the concert lasts from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM.
