Upper Cumberland sportsmen will soon find license renewals for outdoor activities to be more convenient.
TWRA Outreach & Communications Coordinator Mime Barnes said starting in March of 2022, licenses can be purchased at any time.
“The commission is our governing body, and the commission listens and we listen to what the general public asks for,” Barnes said. “License holders have been asking for a 365-day license for some time.”
The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission approved the change during its September meeting. Before, all licenses expired in February. Barnes said now, permits will last for a full year regardless of when it was purchased.
“That includes any licenses a license holder might purchase,” Barnes said. “It might be their fishing and hunting license. They might just have a stamp like their trap stamp with that.”
