Cookeville Leisure Services is bringing back its painting workshop at the Cane Creek Recreation Center due to popular demand.
The class is happening September 25 at 2:00 PM and registration is open.
Recreation Programmer Sally Herren said COVID set these type of programs back. However, Herren said she got a chance program the class in and wanted to try painting in partnership with Cookeville Art Jam.
“They have the painting scene already set and then they teach you to do that painting,” Herren said. “You can change the colors or whatever about the painting you want to change but it’s basically everyone has the same scene.
Herren said that there are 25 spots available for the workshop, costing $35 per person. She said you don’t need to bring any supplies, or experience.
“Since it’s in September they went with a fall-ish, barn looking theme,” Herren said. “It’s really pretty and with everyone doing farmhouse decor lately, it would go great with some of that.”
Herren said everyone will have the same scene to put their personal spin on.
“If you’re wanting to do something with your mom or even your dad or just some friends,” Herren said. “If you have a group of girlfriends that want to get out and do something, this would be perfect for that. It is just a good outing and you get a cool painting out of it.”
Herren said that reserving a spot can be done over the phone by calling the Cane Creek Recreation Center or online at the Cookeville Leisure Services website. She said when attending, enter the recreation center side instead of the gym.
