Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Cookeville is hosting the two-day Mom Talk Conference.
The conference is on Friday and Saturday.
Chairperson Hannah Davis said Mom Talk is geared towards moms of all ages, no matter their motherhood journey. Davis said she hopes mom’s leave hopeful about their future.
“I just hope that moms take a second to stop and refresh themselves and grow in the word,” Davis said. “And just enjoy community with other people, knowing that you’re not alone in your journey, walking through motherhood.”
Davis said there will be sessions covering parenting, marriage and handling an empty nest. Davis said there will be a guest speaker to provide a few laughs about her time as a mother.
She said that tickets can still be bought at the door for $30. Doors open at 4:30 PM on Friday and 8:00 AM on Saturday.
“We bring in a really well known Christian author and speaker to encourage our moms,” Davis said. “Then we do some fun things, we also have breakout sessions on Saturday where women and men from the local area. They actually teach breakout sessions on different and various topics from parenting to marriage to empty nesting to blending families and more.”
Davis said this year’s speaker is Lisa Harper, who is a single mom raising an adopted daughter. Davis said that preregistration has ended, so attendees that buy tickets at the door will not be able to use childcare or the provided meals.
