Putnam Schools Will Not Require Masks This School Year

Putnam County Schools will not require masks when classes return in-person early next week.

According to Director of Schools Corby King, schools will also no longer conduct COVID screenings or temperature checks. However, the districts COVID dashboard that reports the number of cases will stay operational.

King said in an email that the system will continue to monitor local COVID numbers and reinstate guidelines as needed.

The first day of the 21-22 school year will be from 8-10 a.m. Friday. Next week, Monday is a teacher work day with no scheduled classes, and the first full day of school is Tuesday.
