Baxter Taco Bell Breaks Ground, 4-5 Months For Open

The new Taco Bell On Fast Lane in Baxter broke ground Monday morning.

Officials from the town, the county and Taco Bell all grabbed a shovel after 18 months of work to reach this point. Franchisee Imaan Ferdowsi said he saw first hand why Baxter was the right location to open his business.

“Community, the four schools that are in Baxter,” Ferdowsi said. “The level of excitement that we were hearing from town folk and from the mayor. It was just a perfect recipe for this is the right location for us.”

Ferdowsi said it all started with a cold call from Mayor John Martin, who then took Ferdowsi on a tour of Baxter. Ferdowsi said it will be roughly four to five months before the restaurant opens.

“We’re hoping to get some site work started this week, at the latest next week,” Ferdowsi said. “We’ll probably be working for the next four or five months until the grand opening.”

Ferdowsi said when considering where to build a Taco Bell he considers the amount of traffic and what else has been developed in the area. Ferdowsi said he had been hearing that Baxter is an area to consider for a new store for the past few years.
