The Byrdstown-Pickett County Chamber of Commerce and Welcome Center driveway will be closed to traffic until Monday.
Executive Director Billy Robbins said the paving was complete on Thursday and needs three days to cure. Robbins said once it reopens, the paving adds a great new look to the building.
“Oh it’s great, it’s going to take out a lot of dust and wash boarding and eroding that happens along the way the last few years,” Robbins said. “It has a much better parking facility now, we have a little more access for parking.”
Robbins said that people are still welcome to come and visit while the driveway is blocked. He said visitors just need to park along side the roadway and can walk up to see the veterans monument or farmers market.
