Fentress County will be hosting its first 4th of July Mini Mash-Up Demolition Derby this Saturday, June 26th at the Fentress County Fairgrounds.
Co-Promoter Daniel Brewer said they planned a mini mash-up to save money and allow for a bigger pay-outs for participants.
“We combined all the pay-outs from previous events just into small car only,” Brewer said. “So we’ve upped the pay-out. We’re paying the first, second, third, fourth and fifth place. They’ll have a guaranteed pay-out, with first place being $2500.”
Brewer said the event will be a fun time for both driver participants and audience members.
“For the main event to win money,” Brewer said. “And on the crowd side, it’s just going to be a fun-filled packed night of car-crashing action with a big firework show to end the night.”
Brewer said that the events are common in the Upper Cumberland, and that he’s excited to see a big turn-out.
“I’ve done this since I was a kid,” Brewer said. “It’s went from driving to putting these events on and I’m just excited to see what kind of car count we have and look forward to helping the county and put on a good event.”
The Mini Mash-Up costs $5 for general admission, and $75 for driver entry. Inspections for car will start at 4 p.m., with the main event starting a 6 p.m.
