Cumberland County Man Indicted For Second-Degree Murder After Woman OD’s

A Cumberland County man has been indicted for Second Degree Murder after allegedly providing methamphetamine to a woman who overdosed.

On Friday, deputies booked Mark Christopher Brown into the Cumberland County Jail on a $150,000 bond for Second Degree Murder, Sale of Schedule II Controlled Substance and Delivery of a Schedule II Controlled Substance.

Tennessee law enforcement agents joined Cumberland County Deputies in the investigation of Madison Christine Brown’s death one day after she was found. The investigation identified Mark Brown as the person who provided the woman with meth on the night she died.

A joint investigation by special agents with the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force, and the TBI Overdose Death Task Force resulted in the indictment of Mark Brown.
