Main Street McMinnville has named Cliff Davidson its new president.
Main Street highlights the resources and growth opportunities for downtown McMinnville. Davidson said one specific way he plans to revitalize McMinnville’s historic downtown is to get residents socializing safely in a post-pandemic world.
“Really the only safe way to do that is outdoors, and we have the the best outdoor venues in the areas. My short-term goal is to get people out and enjoying one another’s company again while we support our downtown businesses and entertainment venues,” said Davidson.
Davidson, a founding member of the organization, said as the new president he hopes to bring tourists to town for a visit and entice them to stay by utilizing a re-energized downtown.
“People from afar come and find out how beautiful middle Tennessee is here on the highland rim, then they find out how friendly the folks are, and find out how cool the culture is. Where you find that culture is in the downtown–in a bustling, healthy, happy downtown,” said Davidson.
In its 22 years as an organization, Main Street McMinnville has been a champion for its historic district’s growth and up-keep. They’ve done projects ranging from expanding their historic district to adding bike trails all in hopes of improving the quality of life for McMinnville residents.
Davidson said he hopes to keep up the work of previous presidents by continuing to focus on the economic and community development of downtown McMinnville.
