Blood Assurance In Emergency Situation and Needing Donors, Extending Hours

Cookeville’s Blood Assurance office will be open extended hours Thursday through Saturday for blood donations.

Blood Assurance said there is a critical need right now for O-positive, O-negative and A-positive blood types. They are sitting at under a half days supply for most blood types, when in an ideal situation they would have a five-day supply.

Because of the need, all type O donors will receive a $10 Amazon gift card on April 28. The Cookeville Blood Assurance donor center will be open from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday-Saturday to offer more appointments.

All Type A, B, and AB donors will receive a $10 Starbucks gift card on Saturday in Cookeville. Vaccinated donors will be eligible to donate blood with no waiting period.
